So on Monday's in Luxembourg, everything is CLOSED. Even some restaurants.. everything shuts down, so there wasn't much to do. That is, there wasn't much to do UNTIL we sat down to drink a beer and I used my iPhone map to realize that Germany was a mere 40 minutes away, and I had never been there before! So, we decided to randomly go to Germany, which in my opinion, is one of the greatest things we've ever done :) I love spontaneous actions!!!
On the train to Germany... moustache twins :)
We decided to head to Trier, Germany, which is FULL of Roman ruins and lots of cathedrals and basilicas, which we all know Mark loves.
After a gorgeous train ride through the wine region that falls in between Luxembourg and Germany, we were in Trier. We only spend about 4-5 hours there, just walking around and seeing ruins and the city centre - which looked like a photo of Epcot because it looked so darn PERFECT!
Look how amazing it is. And of course, we couldn't leave until we had a German beer! Rainy day, but a PERFECT day. I definitely hope we have time to go to Berlin on our trip in April, as we make our way from Italy to the Netherlands!!!
