Valentine's Day Trip to Europe - Germany

So on Monday's in Luxembourg, everything is CLOSED. Even some restaurants.. everything shuts down, so there wasn't much to do. That is, there wasn't much to do UNTIL we sat down to drink a beer and I used my iPhone map to realize that Germany was a mere 40 minutes away, and I had never been there before! So, we decided to randomly go to Germany, which in my opinion, is one of the greatest things we've ever done :) I love spontaneous actions!!!

On the train to Germany... moustache twins :)

We decided to head to Trier, Germany, which is FULL of Roman ruins and lots of cathedrals and basilicas, which we all know Mark loves.

After a gorgeous train ride through the wine region that falls in between Luxembourg and Germany, we were in Trier. We only spend about 4-5 hours there, just walking around and seeing ruins and the city centre - which looked like a photo of Epcot because it looked so darn PERFECT

Look how amazing it is. And of course, we couldn't leave until we had a German beer! Rainy day, but a PERFECT day. I definitely hope we have time to go to Berlin on our trip in April, as we make our way from Italy to the Netherlands!!!
